Manchester Bookbinders

About

The history of Deanprint can be traced back to a young entrepreneur named Joseph Dean, who despite being born into impoverished circumstances, used his intellect and determination to set up a travel agency; Dean and Dawson, in 1871.

Mr Dean eventually bought a printing press as he recognised the potential of being able to produce his own brochures for the travel company. This simple acquisition lead him to establish, in 1890, the company that still bears his name today.

Thirty years after the travel company was acquired by Thomas Cook, the present all purpose factory was built in Cheadle Heath, where Deanprint established itself as one of the most well respected printing and bookbinding companies in the UK.

We now offer a comprehensive range of printed products, including books, binders and stationery items. Much has changed in the area, however our dedication to excellence has never wavered. Our premises can be found just 50-metres from Junction 2 of the M60 motorway.

In 2023, Chapel Press Limited acquired the historic Deanprint  name, together with selected equipment, intellectual property, and  invaluable expertise. By uniting Deanprint’s heritage with Chapel Press’s extensive range of printing and finishing services, the two businesses are now positioned to build on their proud traditions and deliver exceptional service and innovation for many years to come.
