Can I print and sell my own book?
Can you publish a book yourself? Of course you can. Self publishing or printing and selling your own book has never been easier. In the simplest form you can just upload your content – like uploading your holiday snaps and off you go. Selling your book is also easy, in theory. Approximately 70% of all books sold are sold on Amazon and it is a simply process to list your book there. Amazon also offer direct publishing for digital books and even provide print on demand options .
Depending on which stats you believe there are somewhere between 600,000 and 1,000,000 books published every year in the US alone. Approximately half are self-published. On average, they sell less than 250 copies each. In the last year the world has seen changes that have boosted self-publishing flooding the market with new books. Can I self publish on multiple sites and in other formats?
Provided you own the copyright of your book, then you can publish it in whichever format you may want to publish it. So, yes you can publish your book on on multiple channels like Amazon, Amazon Kindle Kobo, Google Play, SmashWords, Barnes & Nobles etc. Multi-channel distribution increases the discoverability of your book increasing the chance of sales. So, for example, you can publish a limited edition hardback with a gold embossed cover. Retaining copyright can be a great advantage for authors.
